It doesn't seem like it was a year ago, it still doesn't seem like it actually happened, but it's still a jarring reality. Twelve months ago, CNET Digital Music Editor James Kim was found dead in Oregon, and the world lost one of those rare people whom everyone loved. I had the privilege of working with James at two different jobs, and no one I know who met him could say a bad thing about him. He loved what he did, and that passion came through in his work and in the excitement he showed whenever a new MP3 player landed in the office to be reviewed. He's still on my IM buddy list. His dedication to his work and his family was palpable, and his last actions on this planet showed how selfless and passionate he truly was. James' legacy lives on through his wife, his two children, and the James Kim Technology Foundation, which helps public school kids in San Francisco learn about new technologies. I'm over it. Now that I don't have to have the specialized Acrobat Reader for my UOP classes I'm moving to Foxit. It doesn't have an auto updater, it doesn't have something that runs in the background all the time and the full install is 2 MB instead of 90 MB.
