I'm Making A Difference with Windows Live Messenger

The mysterious new icon that appeared in Windows Live Messenger 8.1 has finally been revealed! The "i'm" Initiative has official started.

So what is it all about? Well, all you need to do is put the "i'm" icon in your Windows Live Messenger display name to get involved. With this icon in your display name, it signals to Microsoft that you are willing to make a difference and give back to the world. A portion of advertising revenue that is made by your instant messaging conversations (from the small adverts that exist in Messenger) when you are using the "i'm" icon will be donated to the cause of your choosing.
You can choose the following causes to donate to:

American Red Cross = *red+u
Boys & Girls Clubs of America = *bgca
National AIDS Fund = *naf
National MS Society = *mssoc
ninemillion.org = *9mil
Sierra Club = *sierra
StopGlobalWarming.org = *help
Susan G. Komen for the Cure = *komen
UNICEF = *unicef

The "i'm" Initiative only works with Windows Live Messenger 8.1. Only users of Windows Live Messenger 8.1 can enable the icon and only users of Windows Live Messenger 8.1 can see the icon. That means Messenger users of 8.0 and below cannot see the "i'm" icon.

I using Windows Live Messenger a ton to communicate with friends and folks in the community. I'm honored to be able to participate and make a difference. I think I'm going to change the "i'm" code every couple days and try to donate to different causes.

I left Cingular Wireless for a new opportunity. I'm working as a manager at the CitiGroup CitiCards Customer Service Center for The Home Depot. It's a great place and I really enjoyed my first week there. My manager is really nice and my coworkers were all very friendly and inviting :-)
